  • 1.  Reactivate Soft Deleted Records

    Posted 01-03-2022 16:24
    When we receive weekly/monthly files, some profiles can be dropped.  If profiles that were in previous load  missing from this load, these profiles will be soft deleted in MDM.  In the next load, these profiles may show up again.  Since they are soft deleted during this load, their addresses won't be reactivated even though the profiles will be reactivated again.  Why can't addresses be reactivated?  Is there anyway to automatically reactivate these addresses?

    Hi Vivian,

    We have a similar issue.    What occurs is the relationship between the Profile and the Address profile is broken when the profile is soft deleted.   When the record re-activates the relationship does not get reactivated.

    My tecnical has been re-adding the relationships via an API when this occurs and we have a request in to the ETL team to also send the profile to address relationship via data load when status goes from Inactive to Active.

    I would be interested if anyone has a different solution or if Reltio could automatically re-enable these relationships when the profile becomes active again.

    Thank you!

    Thanks Angela!  That makes sense.  This seems to be a common issue and I hope the address can be automatically reactivated by the system.  Just because the system considers profile and address two separate entities doesn't mean the actual data is two separate entities.  Address is one of the important profile attributes.

    Thanks Angela ,

    You have mentioned  your team can able to  re-adding the relationships via an API. Could you please share us the API . We have >1000 profiles got soft deleted due to technical load issue and finding challenges reactivating address one by one manually.

    Thanks,
    Raja

    My apologies Raj,  when I asked technical for the information it appears this knowledge left with our last technical support person.   The API has not been run to reactivate the HCO to Address relationship and therefore we are out of sync again.    I have my new technical researching this to try and find what was done previously to repair these broken relationships when an Profile goes from Inactive to Active and to re-activate the address relationship it belongs to.

    I will let you know if Tech is able to figure out the solution again.

    Thank you,

    @Vivian Wu,

    Thank you for your question. Let's dive in a bit deeper. Are addresses separate entities?  What is soft deleting  to you mean? Also, typically soft deletion process is custom developed in Integration Layer, that identifies the records and updates the endDate for Main profile and its corresponding child records such as Addresses. You will have to optimize the process to do the same when parent profile is being reactivated, its corresponding addresses should be reactivated too. I see that @Angela Wawrzaszek responded as well.
