Reltio is always evaluating different components for our back end. Frequently, we perform upgrades to our databases, servers, infrastructure, etc. The goal of these changes is to either to add new functionality (always exposed via API) or to improve RASP (Reliability, Availability, Scalability and Performance). Changing back end databases would generally affect RASP.
So to directly answer your question, the average end user will probably not be seeing any difference from this particular change. There may be future enhancements that rely on this, but they would be exposed via API.
