  • 1.  Validation Function is not working at suggestion mode

    Hi Experts ,

    In Suggestion mode the validation function is not working properly/not being called.

    Could you please help me if there is any separate configuration needed to be done for Validation function to make it work at the time of Suggestion?

    Hi @Saurabh Agarwal, yes. I can confirm that Utsa is using a validate hook like below as a part of lifeCycleActions in the L3 config.

    DVF should be executed in Suggest mode. Please can you confirm if you are doing it for entity or relationship?

    It is for an entity. Also, as a part of validation function for that specific entity, we have chosen the validation event as "Create and update profile".

    DVF should work in Suggest mode.  Attaching a screenshot for your reference.

    I think you should create a zendesk ticket so the support can help you identify the reason

    Hi Nidheesh, Utsa, and Saurabh,

    Nidheesh shared a similar issue that we encountered in his team's PoC.

    In almost all situations, the Validations work as expected for Suggest and Edit of new and existing entities.

    The exception we discovered was when there is an auto-generated attribute for the entity type e.g. to create a new ID.

    I raised a support ticket in Reltio regarding the problem, with the title: "Data Validation Errors are not enforced when Suggesting, for a new profile, if there is an auto-generated attribute".

    Is this the situation for you, Utsa?
