Our latest Reltio Community Show explored how the new unified UI configuration format empowers administrators and data stewards to create more intuitive, maintainable, and flexible user experiences. Hosted by Abhradeep Sengupta, Principal Product Manager at Reltio, the session unpacked the “why” and “how” behind the change—and what it means for our customers.

Simplifying UI Configuration with a Unified Format

The biggest announcement of the session was the introduction of a single unified JSON configuration file. Previously, customers managed multiple configuration files for each entity and dashboard view—an approach that often led to complexity and versioning challenges. The new format consolidates all UI configuration settings into one structured file with four main sections:

  • Layout: Defines navigation screens like dashboards, search, and segmentation.

  • Pivoting: Enables configurable multi-chart pivots and attribute drill-downs.

  • Profile: Houses configurations for tabs, interactions, and nested profiles.

  • Properties: Governs elements like masking, localization, and branding.

This unified structure streamlines maintenance, version control, and rollback, helping users manage configurations with greater ease and confidence.

Key Advantages

  • Faster Change Control: Make updates quickly without navigating multiple files

  • Simplified Versioning: One file means cleaner tracking across environments.

  • Improved Usability: Reduced complexity and stronger documentation make it easier for both admins and partners to adapt.

  • Unified Migration: A self-service migration option lets users combine files with one click, while Reltio-managed migration ensures consistency across all tenants by October 31 , 2025 ( Non Prod tenants ) and November 7, 2025 (Prod tenants).

Advanced Customization and Control

The show also featured demonstrations of new and enhanced capabilities:

  • Role-based authoring: Control access to steps within multi-stage profile creation flows.

  • Nested profiles: Create additional tabs for better organization of attributes and facets.

  • Custom scripts and actions: Embed JavaScript logic, BI dashboards (e.g., Looker, Power BI), or external reports directly into the UI.

  • Pivot dashboards: Visualize related entities dynamically, providing new analytical perspectives.

These updates are designed to make the Reltio Hub UI not only more customizable but also more intelligent—reflecting how teams actually work.

Looking Ahead

As Abhradeep noted, this change represents a major leap toward self-service configuration and operational efficiency. With improved documentation, simplified workflows, customers can expect smoother experiences and faster innovation cycles.
