We recently learned from Reltio Support that when an RDM lookup description is updated (for example, changing the description associated with an existing lookup code), existing entities are not automatically updated. The Reltio UI displays the current RDM description, but downstream exports continue to contain the previously persisted description until the affected entities are synchronized using syncToDataPipeline.
In our environment, business unit descriptions change periodically, so our process would require identifying every entity that references the updated lookup values and then supplying that list of entity IDs to syncToDataPipeline.
I'm curious how other customers handle this process.
- Do you periodically update RDM lookup descriptions?
- If so, how do you identify all impacted entities before running
syncToDataPipeline?
- Have you automated this process?
I've also submitted an enhancement request asking for the ability to synchronize all entities affected by an RDM lookup change without first having to identify and provide the list of impacted entity IDs. If this is something you've encountered as well, I'd appreciate hearing how you're managing it.
