Yes agree with Gino Fortunato , there is two approaches , Inbound integration always have lot of flexibility while populating data only you can do all these data Transformation and if you dont want to touch inbound as it needs to follow dev ops process then other way is L3 . So it all depends on what you want to achieve and how you want to achieve

Yes, you can use Pattern-Based Cleanser for that, but it has some limitations. For example, if you plan to do calculated string operations and then concatenate and copy, it may not work well. It works for simple cases, though, and it really depends on your business requirements and the logic you want to apply. So yes, you can copy it.
