  • 1.  Reltio's product strategy regarding RDM?

    Posted 21 days ago

    Hello,
since the beginning of working with Reltio I am astonished about the coexistence of MDM and RDM. They seem to be different products.

Is there a plan to upgrade and enhance the RDM component and to adapt it more to the MDM component?

In RDM we are missing lots of features:

    • improved search function (you cannot search for a single value in all RDM lookup types)
    • import possibility
    • display of hierarchy of the values, not only the lookup types
    • display of all attributes including custom ones in table view
    • harmonizing the UI with the MDM UI
    • ...

    Thanks for your feedback!

@Saurabh Agarwal would you like to take a crack at this?

    Hello Klaudia,

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback - this is exactly the kind of input that helps shape the RDM roadmap.

You're right that MDM and RDM serve different purposes and feel like distinct experiences today. They are complementary: MDM manages master entities and relationships, while RDM governs the reference and lookup data that MDM (and other consumers) rely on for consistency and transcoding. That said, we hear clearly that the RDM experience should feel more aligned with the broader Reltio platform, and improving that cohesion is an active focus for us.

On the specific gaps you called out:

    1. Import - This is already on our near-term roadmap. We will be releasing import functionality soon.

    2. Hierarchy experience - We are actively looking at improving how hierarchies are visualized and navigated in the RDM UI, beyond lookup-type listing alone.

    3. Custom attributes in table view - This is a valuable new requirement. We will actively evaluate it and prioritize accordingly.

    4. UI harmonization with MDM - Improving the overall RDM UI experience - including closer alignment with the MDM UI - is part of our direction.

    5. Search across lookup types - Today, searching for a single value across all lookup types is not supported in the RDM UI (search is scoped to a selected lookup type). We recognize the UI gap and will take this into account as we improve search.

Please keep the feedback coming - it directly influences how we prioritize RDM enhancements.

    Thanks
