  • 1.  Match Rule Question, Matching certain value on one side.

    Posted 11 days ago

    Hello Team!

Wanted to ask if anyone knew a way to force a match rule to create a match if at least one side contains a certain value?

For example, a match rule where the Name matches and either side contains the phone number of "111-111-1111".

At least one side must have that phone number.

We are able to get matches where both sides have that number, but not cases where one side may have "111-111-1111" and the other has a valid value.

    Thanks!

    Hi Ujwal

Of course, it will not match when you have a different phone number.  I am trying to understand the business requirement for matching 111-111-1111.

You can ignore the matching when you have certain phone numbers as part of the matching.

Please discuss this with me if you need more information.

    Thanks

    Hello!

Our business requirement is a little different, I was just using the phone number as an example to illustrate the outcome we want.

Essentially, we want to try and capture matches where there may be an invalid value on either side of the match. For example, two entities may share the exact same Name and Address, but one of them may have an invalid value phone number, such as "111-111-1111". We want to be able to view these instances via match rules so we can review them.

The way the match rules are set up right now we can see instances where both sides have that invalid phone number, but not instances where only one side has it.

Hope that explains it a little more.

    Thanks!

    Hi ujwal,

Thanks for the details. Have you used Cleanse in your match logic for the phone number?   if not,  prepare a list of invalid phone numbers and pass it as part of the Dictionary.   Under cleanseAdapterParams, please add keepOriginalValue = false as part of the match .      Upon adding cleanse for the phone numbers in the matching, try with EON or EOAN.

    Hope this helps

    Hello!

Wouldn't the cleanse just get rid of the invalid phone number from the matching?

We actually want to keep it so we can see where the invalid entities are matching with the ones with valid values.

Or cases where two entities with invalid values are matching with each other.
