    Hi team,

Could you please guide me about implementing the Java custom cleanser mentioned in the below link  in ROCS as there is very little info given and no documentation is given for the same  :-

@Utsa Das Check out the below docs link. You  might have seen it already. Also, there is a disclamer, below that Reltio doesn't support ROC's as it's a open collaboration service.

    Hi  @Chris Detzel ,

The link does not contain about anything about the java cleanser. And also in the Java cleanser link itself that I have given above does not have any information about it apart from the source code.

So needs information and more details on it .

    Hi Utsa.

While Chris Detzel digs up more info, I wanted to share a couple of docs pages with you. For custom cleanse functions, please see https://docs.reltio.com/en/model/cleanse-data/cleanse-and-standardize-data-overview/custom-cleanse-functions

And the link to certification details in the bitbucket you included above should go to https://docs.reltio.com/en/model/cleanse-data/cleanse-and-standardize-data-overview/custom-cleanse-functions/cleanse-functions-certification

We'll get a redirect added. We'll also work with Chris to ensure we add any missing content. Thanks for pointing out the miss!

    Utsa,

Thanks for posting your question. I am the product manager for our cleansers and may be able to help. Can you provide a little more info about the use case you're looking to address? We often see community members looking to use custom cleansers to address use cases that our out-of-the-box cleansers can handle. I would love to get some additional details from you to ensure that is not the case here.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jack,

    Thanks for your reply.

We have a requirement to replace a special character by another character in a field and the special character  can be present at any value in the field in Reltio in case of create/update of an entity. Could you please let us know if there is any process which is already present in Reltio and we use the same to achieve the requirement
as we are unable to find that?

Thanks, Utsa. That helps to add context.

Based on your description, this sounds like a straightforward 'Transform' operation. Typically, our recommendation is to have systemic data issues like this resolved in the integration layer or ETL layer, upstream of an MDM implementation.

We do offer a string cleanser that can scrub specific characters (typically system/junk characters) from a string, but it does not meet the match-and-replace requirement you've described in the use case. Please let me know if you'd like me to provide a link to the documentation on this cleanser and I'd be happy to do so.

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for your response. So basically there is no way to achieve this requirement inside reltio with the OOTB cleanse function ..right ?

And that's why we are searching for way to use the Java custom cleanser in ROCS as the requirement is not achievable by OOTB cleanse and some how client prefers to use the cleanse function more from his side .So in this regard I have opened this communication if we can find guidance to use the java custom  cleanse  as there is hardly any information how to use the same.
