Our implementation masters Individuals, Organizations and their associated Locations.

There are situations when a Data Steward will set a location value to "Ignore" in the UI.  We have seen cases where the "Ignore" is removed by a subsequent update to the location containing the "ignored" value.  We wish to block this behavior setting the overrideIgnorePin = true on our location entity.

The documentation describes it as an entity level setting in the the L3 config.

Is anyone using this setting and are you aware of any "gotchas"?

James, I have no experience to offer in terms of actually using this feature, but just clarifying a bit. If I read the documentation correctly, it seems if you wish to suppress the behavior of overriding the Ignore pin when the Ignored value is subsequently posted to the entity, you should set the overrideIgnorePin to "false".  Interested in hearing the results you're seeing when experimenting with True and False settings.

When overrideIgnorePin is set as false, the ignore and pin flag on a attribute value will persist unless the data itself is changed for the contributing crosswalk. The property is set at the entity type level as it applies for all the attribute of entity type. Hope this helps.
